Foggy Newport Engagement Session: Morgan & Yuriy's Story
Sometimes, an engagement session turns into an adventure, and that’s exactly what happened with Morgan and Yuriy. We had to reschedule due to rain so we ended up adventuring into Newport, Rhode Island on Memorial Day weekend. It finally brought us what we thought would be perfect blue skies. However, as soon as we crossed into Rhode Island, a dense fog began rolling in, getting thicker the closer we got to Newport. By the time we arrived, we could barely see a sailboat passing by the lighthouse! Morgan and Yuriy kept the mood light, joking that it was a pirate ship sailing through the mist.
Despite the unexpected weather, Morgan and Yuriy’s positive energy shone through. They embraced the fog, creating a romantic and almost mystical atmosphere for their photos. Their love and laughter were evident in every shot, making the session a beautiful experience despite the elements.
The real adventure, however, came at the end of our session. As we walked back to our cars, we witnessed a hit-and-run in the parking lot. A driver backed his jeep into another car, and then sped off without leaving any information. Yuriy and Morgan didn’t hesitate. They quickly jumped into their car, followed the jeep, and managed to get the license plate number. The Jeep owner and his wife actually stopped his vehicle and got out trying to convince Morgan and Yuriy that they were good people. While they were getting the plate, I left a note on the damaged car’s windshield with the details and our contact information.
The next day, Morgan received a call from the car owner, who was incredibly thankful for our help. It was a reminder of how small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone's day. Morgan and Yuriy’s quick thinking and willingness to help truly showcased their character and added an unexpected twist to an already memorable day.
This engagement session was not just about capturing beautiful photos; it was about experiencing an adventure together and witnessing the kindness and bravery of two wonderful people.
