Downtown Newburyport Engagement | Zachary & Carlye

On the tail end of a crazy year, I was able to capture Zac and Carlye’s engagement session. These two could not been anymore perfect! Even though the temperature was around 12 degrees Fahrenheit, these two did not let it phase them.

Newburyport, MA Engagement Session

We met at the Waterfront Park. We started the session with the gorgeous backdrop of the Merrimack River. Carlye wore a mid calf length grey dress that caught the wind beautifully. Zac wore black slacks and a blue sweater. Their outfits were perfect for their location.

We ended up moving so Merrimac Street was the backdrop of some of their photos as well to capture a more city vibe. The brick walkway made it feel like you were walking around the streets on Boston.

One of my favorite things to do for engagement sessions is learning about the couple’s relationship. One of my favorite questions is how did you two meet? Here are some of the answers that Zac and Carlye had!

How did you two meet?

We met at our hometown bar on a random Sunday night! We have a ton of mutual friend but never actually spoke until that night.

How long were you together before you got engaged?

We were together for 2 years before getting engaged and have been engaged a little over 2 months!

Describe your relationship in a single sentence.

Pizza and football on Sundays.

What does the perfect date look like for you two?

A perfect date night for us would be going out to an Italian restaurant and enjoying a good meal and a couple drinks, then coming home and watching Friday Night Lights on Netflix with some ice cream.

What do you love most about each other?

We love that we are both easy going and very comfortable around each other. We never went through a phase of being shy or awkward. Ever since day one we've been open and just truly ourselves around each other.

What was your first impression?

When asked what their first impression Carlye stated she thought “Zac was that he was a handsome, funny guy at the bar that i've never seen (and that says a lot for a bar that I go to every weekend and know everyone).”

Zac said his first impression of Caryle was that she was “beautiful and outgoing and seemed like a fun person to be around.”
