Roger Williams Park Engagement | Jared & Kelsey
On the tail of a busy wedding season, I had the opportunity to capture a beautiful late fall engagement session in Providence, RI. Kelsey and Jared had some wonderful fall foliage still hanging on!
I met Kelsey and Jared by the Roger Williams Casino to start their engagement session. Kelsey wore a beautiful cream sweater and Jared wore a dark red flannel shirt. We walked to various parts of the park to with a lot of focus on the beautiful water and foliage. We even stumbled upon a funky tree that we had to take some photos in front of. I adored capturing their love by the water behind the casino. Between the beautiful soft light and their love, I don't know which one shined brighter.
One of my favorite things about engagement sessions, is that it allows me to get to know my couple more so we aren't strangers on their wedding day. One story I was told was about the proposal. Jared planned a date night at their favorite restaurant, Red Robin. After dinner, they walked around the plaza hand in hand. When the two of them reached a little shipwreck display they stopped. Kelsey decided to let her inner child out and wanted to see if she could climb inside and reach the deck. After attempting she turned around with disappointment. Jared was waiting for her on one knee and asked her to marry him.
I asked them both what was their first impressions of each other were. Kelsey fell for his beard, blue eyes, and his country gentleman charm. For Jared it was all about her gorgeous smile and laugh. Kelsey and Jared were absolutely amazing to photograph. There was so much love and laughter! I can not wait to capture their wedding at the Independence Harbor in Assonet in October of 2022!
